Why Our Family Loves Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

When my husband and I plan a Disney trip with our three boys, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is always at the top of our list. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s where our family memories are made, giving us the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and a little extra Disney magic.

I love the pictures that the photopass photographers take upon arrival!

Convenience that Makes a Difference

With three boys in tow, convenience is key, and the Polynesian’s access to the monorail is a lifesaver. There’s nothing better than hopping on the monorail straight from the resort—especially when we can keep our youngest in the stroller without waking him after a full day at Magic Kingdom. The added bonus? Security screenings right at the resort mean we skip the longer security lines at the park and head straight into the magic.

Fireworks with a Private View

One of our favorite family traditions is watching the fireworks from the beach. Instead of dealing with the crowds, we cozy up on our balcony or the beach and enjoy the view. The boys love seeing the sky light up over Cinderella’s Castle, and we love that we can soak it all in without the rush and crowds. It’s become one of the magical moments we cherish as a family.

Exploring More Disney Magic

Our boys are always up for an adventure, and being just a short ride away from the Grand Floridian Resort and the Contemporary Resort means we have easy access to even more dining and experiences. We love walking over to the Grand Floridian to catch the gingerbread house during the holidays or grabbing a bite at Chef Mickey’s.

Tropical Fun and Relaxation

The Polynesian’s pools are a huge hit with our family. The boys could spend hours at the Lava Pool, going down the waterslide and playing in the splash zone. My husband and I love getting in on the waterslide action too! The tiki torches surrounding the pool and the tropical pathways back to our room really make us feel like we’ve escaped to paradise.

The pool at the Poly is our family’s absolute favorite on property!
The splash pad makes this the perfect pool area for kids of all ages

Memories During Meals

Dining at ‘Ohana is a favorite for us. The boys love Stitch and we all enjoy getting to start our day with him at breakfast.

You can have breakfast with Stitch at the Polynesian!

The poolside Dole Whip window is another family favorite—because what’s a Disney trip without a Dole Whip? There are also 2 other restaurants on site as well as a Joffery’s stand in the lobby!

The Polynesian is the only resort at Walt Disney World that serves Dole Whip!

A Magical Escape

From the moment we arrive, we feel transported. The Moana-themed rooms are a favorite for the boys, blending their love of adventure with a touch of Disney magic. And for us parents, the lush grounds and tiki-lined walkways make every evening stroll feel special.

The tiki torches are such a vibe!

For our family, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort isn’t just about staying close to the parks—it’s about creating lasting memories in a place that feels like home, with a touch of magic in every detail.

Cast members greet you with an Aloha and a lei upon arrival!
