Opening Date Announced! Let’s Plan Your Epic Vacation!

Epic Universe opens May 22 2025!

The day has FINALLY come!  We finally know the opening date of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe! I, personally, have been waiting ALL YEAR for this… MAY 22, 2025, we will FINALLY be able to explore this amazing park!

Let’s break down the details!

Booking Your Epic Vacation

The entrance to Epic Universe awaits! Plan your trip with packages bookable on October 22, 2024.

First, bookings for 2025 packages including Epic Universe tickets and the newest Universal hotels will open on Tuesday 10/22. I expect this will be a crazy day as Universal marketing and creative have done their job perfectly and created substantial hype for this opening. Universal is releasing ticket options in phases.

Initially, we will ONLY be able to book Epic in multi-day ticket packages, and this will include only ONE day access to Epic. Park-to-Park access will only be available for the 2 original parks. You will likely need to dedicate your day to Epic Universe anyway, as it sits about 15 min away from the others and is a fully immersive experience!

Lanyards are essential park attire at Universal, and will now be extra helpful to keep all your printed tickets safe!

You will choose either a 2-park or 3-park ticket with a 1-day Epic add-on. You will continue to be able to choose either base tickets (one park per day) or park-to-park options.  However, I almost never recommend base tickets. You may also choose either a 3-day, 4-day, or 5-day option. With one day of each reserved for Epic, you will have the remaining days to spend at the other parks. You will have a window of 6, 7, or 8 days respectively to use all the days of each multi-day ticket, including the one day at Epic. One and two day tickets will be released at a later date.

Annual Passholders will initially be able to purchase one day add on tickets while awaiting the release of Epic inclusive passes.

For Annual Passholders, a single-day Epic Universe add-on ticket will become available on October 24th prior to single tickets being available to other guests. Annual passes that include Epic will be announced at a later date.

What to Expect at Opening?

Transportation will be available from the current parks and CityWalk area.

Crowds! HAHA…but seriously…Any brand new park will bring in the people, but with this much hype and highly anticipated theming with a huge established fan base, there will be a HUGE draw. By allowing only single day access, Universal is hoping to control crowd levels to some degree.

Lines- Universal’s newest attractions historically do not include Express Passes (I am still waiting on Hagrid’s getting Express!). However, Universal does state that information about Express Passes will be released in the coming months.

Early Park Admission will be available at the new park!

Early Park Admission- This will expand to include the newest park. Select attractions, yet to be announced, will be available to onsite guests. REMINDER- The Grand Helios Hotel will have an exclusive entrance that will be invaluable for making great use of this time!

Transportation- The shuttle bus system will expand to include shuttles to and from Epic Universe between all onsite resorts and CityWalk.

Park Details

The Grand Helios Hotel will have a dedicated park entrance which will optimize your EPIC day!

Epic Universe will consist of FIVE fully immersive lands, including Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

  • Lindsy grew up loving theme parks, frequenting the smaller local parks as a child. Her love of Disney began with the animated classics and her first trip to Walt Disney World at just 18 mos old! Lindsy discovered Universal Orlando as a teen and it was love at first sight. She is now an Annual Passholder at BOTH, and is raising her two kids to love the parks as well! While all the Orlando parks are amazing, Universal sealed the deal with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWoHP). As a Harry Potter Nerd, the WWoHP is her happy place.
